PAC History and Reputation

The Performing Arts Center, originally Regina's
School of Dance, originated in 1973 under the
sole instruction of Regina Cooke. She began
teaching tap and tumbling while in college at the
University of Mississippi. As the years
progressed, so did the
programs that became
available to children of
all ages. The Performing
Arts Center emerged in
1989 and continues to
offer professional
instruction in tap,
clogging, pre-school
tumbling, gymnastics,
cheer technique and majorette prep.
Now in their 7,500 square foot facility, Regina's
dream of bringing all the arts under one roof has
come true. She has put together a well-qualified
staff that is committed to helping students
develop their talents and achieve their own
personal goals. Jala Ozbirn, Director of
Gymnastics and Cheer, has taught for the
Performing Arts Center for 14 years and is the
daughter of Regina Cooke. Jala teaches pre-school
tumbling, school-aged gymnastics, and cheer
technique classes.
