Tuition Policies

Monthly tuition fees are drafted or due on the 15th of each month. Tuition that is not received by the
class meeting the week of the 15th  will be considered late. A $5.00 late fee will be charges to accounts
for amounts not paid by the 15th of each month. A reminder note will be sent home with students whose
accounts are overdue. When paying with a check, please write your child’s name on the memo line.

After the  recital, a monthly late fee of $25.00 is charges to accounts with unpaid balances.

While we hope that you will not find it necessary to withdraw your child from PAC, we do ask that you
please notify the studio by written note or phone call immediately if you find that you must do so. We
will immediately stop your draft if you have no balance remaining on your account for the month.

Returned Checks or Draft Insufficient Funds
A $15.00 fee will be charged to accounts with a returned check or draft. This balance will only be
payable in cash. This is the amount the bank charges us for your returned check/draft plus a reprocessing
fee.

Absences and Holidays
No reduction in monthly tuition fees are made due to absences. If class was held as scheduled and your
child was not there, a place was still being reserved for your child.

No reduction in monthly tuition fees are made due to months with holidays. Your child’s tuition is
calculated on a yearly basis and that total is divided into 10 equal payments. Your child’s class will meet
a minimum of 32 times in a dance year. Most classes, however, meet more than 32 times in a dance year.
These additional classes are considered free bonus classes.

Student Placement

Older students with little or no experience may be placed in a class level below their listed age group for
the first year of study.  PAC reserves the right to place exceptional students in a higher level class than
age dictates. Such placement is based solely on the recommendation of the PAC staff.

All gymnastic students must meet level requirements before enrolling in certain classes.
In order to move from Gym I classes to Gym II classes, students must have mastered a standing
back handspring and a round off back handspring.

Dress Code Policies

1. All students MUST wear the proper dance attire for each class. A dress code handout is given out on
Supply Day and the first day of class. Jazz students are required to wear black leotards or dance tanks;
black leggings, jazz pants, or shorts; and black jazz shoes with no socks. Clogging students must have
white clogging shoes. Tap students are expected to wear white tap shoes. Gymnastics students must
wear white gymnastics slippers. Three-year-old through first-grade students will wear black leotards with
white gymnastics shoes and tap shoes.
For your convenience, all attire and shoes may be purchased at the studio.

2. All students must enter the classroom ready to dance or tumble. Students should not come into the
classroom wearing street clothes or cover ups. Dressing rooms are available for changing into dance
apparel.

3. Students must not wear their jazz, tap, clogging, or gymnastic shoes outside of the building. They
should be taken to and from the dance studio in a dance bag.

4. Hair MUST be neatly fixed and securely out of the face in a ponytail, French braid, etc. Students will
not be allowed to start class if their hair is not pulled back. Students should not wear large hair
accessories or bows as they interfere with much of the work done in gymnastics classes.

5. No t-shirts, sweats, etc. may be worn over dance apparel during class.

6.
Jewelry may not be worn to class. Dangling jewelry can cause injury to the student as well as the
instructor. Jewelry must be removed before students will be allowed to participate in class.

8. NO GUM, candy, cough drops, etc. in class.

Dress Code Violations
All sections of the dress code policy will be enforced unless PAC has been notified by written note or by
phone call from the parent as to why the student is not properly dressed.

Unexcused violations will be handled in the following manner:
1. The student will be loaned proper dancewear from the studio “dancewear basket.” Studio dancewear
is used but always freshly laundered. It consists of all the unclaimed dancewear that is collected each
year from Lost and Found.

2. Students who do not follow the codes listed above for hair and clothing will not be allowed to
participate in class until the issue has been resolved. Please be sure to put the necessary hair accessories
in your child's bag.

3. Parents will be contacted by  note or phone call if a student has excessive dress code violations.

Dancewear and Supplies

PAC makes it easy for you by selling all supplies that your child will need for class in the studio at a
reduced retail rate. You can buy dancewear and supplies from the front desk. Instructors will not take
out class time to find and fit a student for new dancewear or supplies. This must be taken care of before
or after class time.

Classroom Behavior and Discipline

We encourage demonstration of mutual respect between our students and instructors as well as between
students. A good working relationship based on mutual respect is necessary for the well-being and
progress of the student.

Courtesy and good manners are expected and encouraged.

During class time, students are expected to pay attention to the instructor and maintain suitable
composure for their age. A student who fails to do so will be disciplined in a manner consistent with his
or her age and maturity. For the little ones, we have a “time out” corner of the dance rooms. Older
students may be sent out to the front waiting room after a warning from the instructor. For a student
who continually disrupts class, parental involvement will be required.

Attendance

All students are expected to attend class regularly. Only regular and punctual attendance can ensure the
student’s maximum growth during the course of the dance year. Excessive absences greatly hinder the
individual student as well as the rest of the class when preparing for performance.

PAC reserves the right to deny participation in the recital to any student with excessive absences
regardless of fees paid or costumes purchased. No refunds will be made in such cases.

Perfect Attendance Awards

Perfect Attendance Awards will be given out at the end of the dance year. They are awarded in class the
last week before recital. To receive an award, the student must have perfect attendance in ALL classes
taken. Made-up classes as well as observed classes apply toward perfect attendance. Instructors will take
attendance for each class within the first 10 minutes of the class.

Make-up Classes

Missed classes may be made up within 4 weeks of the absence. Making up missed classes is an option,
not a requirement. Missed classes must be made up in a similar class when available. Your child’s
instructor can give you the day(s) and time(s) of appropriate make-up classes.

Class Participation

All students will participate in class unless the studio is notified by the parent with either a written note
or a phone call excusing the student from activity. Excused students may sit and observe class.
Observing class is far better than missing class altogether (as long as the student is not contagious).

Punctuality
All students should arrive on time for class. Students who are late should enter the classroom quietly and
quickly find their places so as not to disturb the class that is already in progress. If you are having a hard
time getting your child to class on time, please notify the studio and we will try to find a solution.

Communication Methods

The best way to stay informed is to visit our website or the front desk at the studio. You may also check
the information boards located in the waiting room. All notices and information will be updated regularly.

Another way we get information to parents is through notes sent home with students from class. Please
impress upon your child the importance of making sure any notes they receive during class get home to
you. It is a good idea to check your child’s dance bag for forgotten notes. If your child is absent, please
check with the office manager upon returning to class to see if they missed any notes.

Severe Weather and School Dismissal

In case of bad weather or school dismissals, the studio answering machine (662-534-2458) will be set to
inform you of class dismissals. We will follow the New Albany School District as to when we will close
due to severe weather.

Withdrawals

While we hope that you will not find it necessary to withdraw your child from PAC, we do ask that you
please notify the studio by written note or phone call immediately if you find you must do so. If you are
on bank draft, we will stop your draft as soon as you notify PAC of your withdrawal. By not providing
proper notice to us, we continue to reserve your child’s place in class. This means another child on a
waiting list is kept waiting and your account will continue to be billed.
Non-attendance is not considered proper notice.

Lost and Found

A Lost and Found area is located inside the front door to the gym area. Please have your student check it
often. At the end of each dance semester, all unclaimed items go to the Salvation Army, Good Will, or
the studio dancewear basket. If we find an item with your child's name in it, we will notify you and hold
it until you return.

Parking

Please park facing the building in the appropriate spaces. If you are parked near the building, please
carefully watch behind you for new cars that have pulled into other spaces. Most importantly, please be
aware of the children. They do not always look out for themselves and may dart out in front or behind
your vehicle. Please maintain a safe speed and keep a sharp eye out for our little ones.
